What's going down at GCC

I opened the doors to Get Centered Counseling three years ago this January. It simultaneously feels like it’s gone by so fast and like I’ve been doing this so much longer. My vision was to have a safe space where women could come to heal from eating disorders, disordered eating, roller coaster dieting, self-hatred, and all the other pains they’ve carried for so long. It’s been amazing to work with such incredible women and bear witness to their journeys. This business has been a journey for me too and I am excited to share some of the cool things that have taken place this year.

The alphabet after my name has changed

Earlier this year I completed my internships with both Washington and Oregon. It was incredible to be supervised by Anne Cuthbert. I learned so much from her and I miss our supervision sessions, but I am grateful to have her as a consultant and a friend and I am so excited about this next chapter in my professional career.

I am now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. WooHoo!!

Trauma certified

This year I also became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (more letters to add after my name!). The certification is through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. The training was amazing and the knowledge I gleaned from it has been invaluable. So many clients have benefited from it and I even started using some of the self-regulatory skills they taught, and my stress level has decreased monumentally. It’s some amazing stuff and I am honored to hold a safe, calm space for my clients who are suffering.

GCC is official

Get Centered Counseling is now a Professional Limited Liability Corporation. It feels good to have made this move and become an official business, not just a DBA. Now GCC has an alphabet after its name too!

Signed on with Kaiser

I have become credentialed with Kaiser insurance, so I can now start seeing Kaiser patients. I am grateful to Kaiser for reaching out to me and asking me to start this application process. I don’t think there are many eating disorder specialist counselors in Vancouver, WA that are in network with Kaiser so I’m hoping I can be of help to some new people soon.

If you are in the Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR areas and are struggling with an eating disorder, want to get off the endless diet cycle, or are tired of being at war with your body…I would like to help you. I can also help if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, etc. Click the link below and fill out the form to schedule a FREE 15-minute phone consultation with me.
